EXP and Zenny are gained from winning battles. Even if you lose a battle, you still gain a miniscule amount of EXP. When you win a battle, you get EXP equal to your opponent's level times 5 (i.e. a Lv. 3 opponent gives 15EXP), and bonus based on rank. You also get 100 Zenny for each level your opponent is, and bonus Zenny based off your busting Rank. This is just 100 times more than the EXP bonus. You also get a 20% bonus from your opponent's Zenny, and a 5% bonus from your opponent's EXP. You do not round up, and your opponent does not lose anything. If you lose, you get 2 EXP, plus 1 EXP for every level higher the opponent is than you. If the opponent is 2 levels or more lower than you, you get 0 EXP for losing. This table shows how rank affects how much EXP you get Rank | EXP Gained | Zenny Gained | 1 | +1 | +100 | 2 | +2 | +200 | 3 | +3 | +300 | 4 | +4 | +400 | 5 | +5 | +500 | 6 | +6 | +600 | 7 | +7 | +700 | 8 | +8 | +800 | 9 | +9 | +900 | 10 | +10 | +1000 | S | +15 | +1500 | Lose | 2+Difference between levels |
